Fulilling weekend - Volunteer Work
I had my first taste of volunteer work last Sat... Tiring but fun...
How "effort"... My good fren, Jen, n I went all the way down to Toa Payoh early in the morn... got into grps of 5 and then went off to those one- to two-room flats... We were allocated to paint the unit #04-693... or is it 639?? can't exactly remember...pardon me, since my frens noe i recently suffer from the "Dory" syndrome ... I have my reason for mentioning the unit number... read on...
It was, again, my 1st time seeing a one-room unit... reminded me of a NTU's hostel room... The elderly lady was very friendly and we called her Auntie May... We helped her shift and re-arrange her furniture... oh my... dust dust dust everywhere.... we painted her whole house and boy, was it tough work... good exercise though.. since i have been claiming that i wanna lose some weight b4 CNY... We swept and mopped the floor.... the result of one day's work? Fabulous! The whole room was so much brighter with the fresh white paint, the floor cleared of old wax and was sparkling clean... You should start thinking abt putting on some fresh paint too! Get prepared for CNY! :D
After the whole spring cleaning session, it's DINNER time! Sadly, the food was right in front of us... but we waited ages before we could get our hands on them... Lucky for us, though the few of us just knew each other on that day itself... while waiting for dinner, we were laughing and joking merrily... time seems to pass faster that way... However, i noticed that Auntie May was very quiet then... maybe she was hungree... maybe she just couldnt catch what we were saying... so she was there.. fidgeting about... not sure if Jen and my other team-mates noticed...
Let me digress a bit... I ran into my... ... oh my... I also dunno how to address her... my distant relative... It's kinda weird... I'm younger than her but we decided she should address me as her auntie cos I am, supposedly, her elder... .. sigh.. those Chinese family hierarchy... make me sound so old... haha... this distant relative... she's called Shandy... she's smart and pretty... tutored me before when i was just Primary 5... How time flies... The reason i mentioned about running into Shandy... cos I ran into her when i was attending my good fren's bro's wedding.... Shandy and I do not see each other so frequently... we were staring at each other throughout the wedding... guessed she was thinking what I was thinking too...(that she's my who who who....) haha.. but it's weird... we din approach each other but just continued staring... so this time round, she decided to quit the suspense and came up to me and went... "are you my who who who?" ... yes.. those are the exact words... and noe-ing me... i get excited very easily about and over the smallest things.. and i went.. ya ya ya... hahaha.. come to think of it... the world is small... :p
Sun... Jen went to buy 4D... yes.. the unit number.... i told my mum... and my mum said.. no la.. buy for wat? won't come out one... weird... if so, then why does she buy it every week diligently, without fail? To buy a hope, i guess.... no one will ever think money is enuff, isnt it? anyway, the result? it was the 2nd prize!!! I should be jumping for joy, isnt it? ya... that is, if we bought permutations as well... sigh... tok abt beginner's luck...

"why do we have to torture ourselves to wake up EARLY on a sunday morn?"... ... i agreed... dunno... cos Yanshan dear was the one who said to meet at 930am, and no one disagreed... yawnz.... we met cos Yanshan dear just got hitched! So happy for her... but to be absolutely frank... puts so much pressure on me! grrrr... now... let me go search for someone who can take the pressure off me... :) Anyone u can introduce? **winkz**
